Milestones from the founding to the present day.
1948
The company 'Johann & Konen' is founded by Heinz Johann and Heiner Konen in Wuppertal. The team: the two founders and two engineers. The production facility: a burned-out ruin from World War II.
1958
The team, now registered as 'Jokon', grows to 80 people and relocates to Bonn.
1964
New machines create new needs: Jokon moves within Bonn to its current location and now has 120 employees.
1971
With an export share of about 30%, the company becomes a player in the international market. For this reason, the first subsidiary is established in Folschviller, France.
1978
'Jokon' is rebranded to 'Johann & Konen GmbH & Co. KG'.
1987
A second branch is established in the United Kingdom. Heiner Konen, son of the founder, takes over management with Mr. Breitkopf.
1993
Ms. Christel Konen-Velasco, daughter of the founder, succeeds her brother. Mr. Breitkopf remains as the second managing director.
2004
'Johann & Konen GmbH & Co. KG' is acquired by Mr. Jochen Jungfleisch. He remains the owner and managing director for the next 8 years.
2010
Mr. Axel Oster takes on the role of technical managing director.
2012
The company is sold to 'VM Industries', with their president, Marc Laisné, taking over management. The company is rebranded to 'Jokon GmbH'.
2021
Our flagship multifunctional light L 3600 is launched. Fully LED with functions: Blink-Brake-Tail-Fog-Reverse, 12 or 24 V.
